WHAT’S PROPOSED?
During its February 12 meeting, the Redwater Independent School District Board of Trustees voted unanimously to call a $13,900,000 bond election for the May 2, 2026 ballot.

Proposition B

District Stadium
Complex Renovations
If approved by voters, bond funds would be used for facility projects related to instructional spaces, safety and security, and aging facilities.

TAX INFORMATION
The projected tax impact is $0.2606 per $100 of property value, if both propositions pass. For the average home in Redwater ISD valued at $230,945, the projected tax impact would be $19.75 per month.
65+ AND DISABLED VOTERS

Homeowners age 65 and older or those disabled will not incur an increase of RISD taxes above their current exemption ceiling as long as a homestead and over 65 or disabled exemption have been filed with the Bowie Central Appraisal District. Texas law provides a school tax ceiling for homeowners who are 65 and older or disabled, meaning their school district tax bill will not increase above their ceiling as a result of this bond election, unless significant improvements are made to the homestead.
